Congratulations Andrea!
1/21/2010
December Junior Duck of the Month Andrea St. Onge, Lady Ducks 19u Team

Andrea was chosen by her coach for working very hard and being one of the most improved players in the Lady Ducks program. She’s not only earned the respect of her coach, but has also demonstrated strong leadership, earning her team’s “C” as captain this season.

Andrea hopes to play women's college hockey in the future and has made great strides toward reaching her goals!

LD Girls give christmas cheer
1/12/2010
Hey everyone just wanted to let you know that our Captain Cannady and Assistant Captains Alexa and McKenna did us proud today. We delivered the wreaths, ornaments, and handmade Christmas Cards to Emeritus Senior Living in San Juan Capistrano this afternoon. Since our entire team couldn't make it during the week, I printed up some copies of the pictures we took of the girls at Honda Center to put in with all of the cards so they could see the entire team.

The activities director met us there and took us into the great room area to meet some of the residents and deliver our Christmas Cheer. The director asked the girls to introduce themselves and tell everyone a bit about what they do, and where they play. I was worried the girls would be nervous about being the center of attention, but they smiled, and answered, and there were lots of questions from these sweet ladies and gentlemen who couldn't beleive our cute little girls play ice hockey. They were truly excited to have the girls there and the girls did a GREAT job . They were very gracious and hospitable, passing out the cards individually and talking with the residents. I was extremely proud of them.

The Center really loved the decorations. The coming weekend was the center's Family Christmas Celebration so they were excited to have some additional wreaths to hang. They welcomed the team back again and would love to have us come volunteer and join them for a BBQ in the spring. They even joked they would let the girls bring their sticks and play hockey outside.

Please express to your daughters how much their crafts and handmade cards were truly appreciated and what joy it brought.

Here are some pictures too. (click to enlarge)

Lady Ducks flying as Hawks

Anaheim Lady Ducks players are working toward lofty goals, such as Division I hockey opportunities and potential USAHockey 18u National women's team as they train and play for the North American Hockey Academy this year. Pictured left to right are Alison Pankowski - 93D, Annie Pankowski - 94F (just visiting and playing this weekend), Jessica Hon 93F, and Kaliya Johnson - 94D. NAHA, a non-National Bound development and exposure program, has helped to intensify training and opportunities for female hockey players from the West for a number of years and boasts a number of 18u National team players right now. Great work Lady Ducks we'll see you in a few weeks in CT and looking ahead at 16AAA District Championships in San Jose!

Things to Know
Off-Season Training: Lady Ducks coaches: Vicky Wang, Kathy McGarrigle, Don Johnson and Tracy Frazer work with over 75% of the Lady Ducks players on skating, stick handling, passing and shooting skills during Private Lessons, semi-private or small group instruction, at weekly clinics and off ice skill sessions. You don't have to be on a Lady Ducks team to get started taking your game to a higher level. We encourage all girls to take some time to improve their individual skills outside of team practices and are available almost every day to schedule convenient instruction.
