ANAHEIM – Annie Pankowski is a teenager who doesn't want to fit in as much as she wants to stand out.

It's the edge of summer, time for vacation, but this 15-year-old wants to work out. It's sunny, perfect for the beach, but she craves a day inside an ice box. It's Southern California, the factory of Olympic soccer, softball and swimming legends, but Pankowski wants nothing more than to spend 20 minutes suiting up helmeted-top to silver-bladed toe in bulky hockey gear.

Annie has been selected to the USA 18u Women's National Team

Woooo Hooooo!!!

She will leave (again) for training with the 18u team along with the Women's & 22U National team members at Lake Placid in August for another week!

We are all so proud of you, Annie!

Annie has played with the Lady Ducks since inhouse mites, playing also on the Junior Ducks Mite A and Squirt teams, then competing and training from age 10 full time with the Lady Ducks!

Way to go, Annie!!

SLED HOCKEY PROGRAM IS HERE
EVERY SUNDAY 6:15 - 7:15 pm at CENTER ICE arena

Attention, All Lady Ducks interested in assisting with the Sled Hockey Program out in Ontario!!!
The Sled Hockey Project is the Lady Ducks Community Service Project and all girls (12 and older) are invited to come out and help!
IF YOU want to give it a try and see if you can be a good community helper PLEASE DO come on down to Center ICE on Sundays. Bring a hockey playing friend if you'd like to! You are there to assist the disabled on and off of sleds, and fill in as a Sled player when there aren't enough! We expect that throughout the summer we will need you on sleds, after helping, due to the program just starting up.

The director of this endeavor is Glen Trefry. Be there early.. 5:30 - 5:45 is fine... the Format is like a stick time or Cross ICE hockey mini game, with the sleds and tiny sticks!! Bring shin guards, gloves elbow pads and your helmet. Wear/Bring your LD warm ups and a sweat shirt for on the ice!! Please bring and wear tennis shoes for gripping and to have good protection as you will help lift disabled adults/teens onto to sleds and sometimes walk on the ice. You are often going to be on a sled too!! Totally cool! Also, If you own an old helmet and can bring it to donate, some of the new sled players can really use one!

It is with deep sadness that we report that Nicholas Sheafer, age 19, brother of Katie, 16u Lady Ducks player, was killed last night in an automobile accident. The entire Lady Ducks family sends its condolences. We will have information soon but please contact Renee Catanzariti for more details.
